Careers

Help us make games that feel good to touch.

We're a small studio in Katowice, Poland, and we're looking for two people.

01Who you'd work with

A small team that makes short, warm pixel games where your hands do the work: scraping, cleaning, knocking things down.

Our first game, Scrapecremental, is coming to Steam in December 2026, and more are on the workbench. We're small on purpose: what you make goes into the game the same week, and your name goes in the credits.

We care about how things feel more than how many there are. If you've ever redrawn a sprite three times because the third one finally felt right, or tuned a number until clicking it was a little bit joyful, you'll fit right in.

Pixel artist

Make the gunk. Make it worth scraping off.

In our games the art is the game. A dusty window has to look dusty enough that you want to rub it clean, and nice enough underneath that it was worth it. A wall has to look like it will come down well. We're looking for someone who draws things people want to touch.

What you'd do

  • Draw the things our players scrape, clean and knock down, often in layers: the dirt, what's under it, and the moment in between.
  • Give our characters faces with opinions. Uncle Gary, Kyle from 3B, and the ones nobody has met yet.
  • Small animations that make a game feel alive: a flicker, a wobble, a puff of dust.
  • Buttons, icons and screens that read at a glance on a phone.
  • The art people see first: Steam capsules, itch pages, the opening frame of a trailer.

What we hope you bring

  • A portfolio of pixel art you made yourself. It matters more to us than any CV.
  • Pictures that still read when they're small and use only a few colours.
  • Some animation, even simple loops.
  • Aseprite, or whatever you draw your pixels in.

Nice, not needed

  • You've finished a game, even a jam game.
  • You've put your art into Godot yourself.
  • You play cosy games, or incremental ones, and know why they're hard to put down.

03Open role

Full-time or part-time · Remote-friendly · English or Polish

Godot developer

Make it feel good under the finger.

Every game of ours starts as a small toy that feels good to touch, and we keep it only if it still feels good an hour later. Most of that is code: how a scrape answers a fast hand and a slow one, the pause before a wall falls, a number going up at exactly the right speed. We're looking for someone who cares about that.

What you'd do

  • Build gameplay in Godot 4 and GDScript, from the first toy to the finished game.
  • Tune the feel: input, timing, particles, screen shake, the sound that goes with it.
  • Incremental economies that stay fun for hours, and saves that never lose anyone's progress.
  • Get our games running well in the browser, on Android and iPhone, and on Steam.
  • Write the little tools that let us build, test and ship without doing the same thing twice.

What we hope you bring

  • Something you made in Godot that we can play: a jam game, a demo, a released game.
  • Good GDScript (C# is fine too) and Godot 4.
  • You test your own work and you finish things.

Nice, not needed

  • You've shipped to phones, or to Steam or itch.
  • Shaders, and knowing when not to use one.
  • You've played Cookie Clicker for longer than you'd admit.

04How it goes

  1. You send the form below. Two minutes. Links to your work instead of attachments: that's what we look at first.
  2. We read every application and write back to every one, yes or no.
  3. A conversation with the team. You'll know the pay range before it, and you can ask us anything.
  4. We decide quickly and tell you why, whichever way it goes.

No cover letter, no CV required. Don't see your role? Pick "Something else" and tell us what you'd do.

Which role?

Halo Sp. z o.o. (ul. Warszawska 40/2A, 40-008 Katowice, Poland) keeps what you send only to consider you for the role, and only our team reads it. It is deleted when the recruitment is over, and by itself after six months at the latest (twelve if you tick the second box). You can withdraw at any time with the link we show you next, or by writing to biuro@halosoft.pl; you can also ask to see or correct it, and complain to the Polish data protection office (UODO).
